7 Things to Do on a First Date

1.First Date Clothes

One of the most important things to do on a first date is to look good and dress well. Don’t be like some people though and dress like you are going to the Oscar’s. What’s important is that your clothes fit well and look good on you. There is no need to go over the top though as this may scare off your date. What’s important is to dress for the occasion: so if you are both meeting in a good club or fancy bar you will obviously dress a good bit differently than if you were going to a basketball game.

2. First Date Grooming

Girls seem to have this taken care of, but guys need a little help. If you think that you don’t need to brush your teeth, style your hair, trim your nose hair and wear cologne, then think again. These things are important as girls judge men both on their personalities and on their looks/style.

3. First Date Conversation

When you are planning things to do on a first date, it’s important to have something interesting to talk about. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but having 3-5 interesting topics to talk about with your date is crucial as silence is deadly. Avoiding it is incredibly important to ensure your date goes smoothly. If you are ever stuck for something to say, then just remember that open-ended questions are far better than closed ended questions. Asking, “What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done is far smoother than asking your date for the time.

4. Things to talk about on a first date

Not the weather! Everybody fears awkward silences during their first date. Instead people should actually fear boring conversations far more. Good things to talk about on a first date are the fun things you’re currently doing and what you plan to do for the holidays.

5. Activity First Date

Many people go to dinner for their first date. This is terrible as it puts a lot of pressure on both of you to talk and get to know each other. There isn’t really an external factor to talk about or take your attention away from staring at one and other. Doing an activity is an awesome first date idea. It could be anything from bowling to sailing to cycling together. This allows both of you to concentrate a little on the task at hand as well as getting to know each other.

6. Casual First Date

Many people get caught up with being ‘alone to get to know one and other’ for their first date. This sometimes can be painful due to the pressure on both of you. A far more fun and easy-going date is to invite your girl/guy to a party you’re having and get them to bring friends. This way if either of you need a break, you can just go talk to your friends for a bit. It’s also a good indicator of what type of man/woman you are dealing with as you can tell a lot about someone by meeting and talking to their friends.

7. Go Shopping First Date

This may sound a little out of left field, but going shopping is a great way to spend your first date. You don’t actually have to buy anything, but you can go into different stores, try on different things and check out some of the more fun places like pet shops, etc.
